Today we looked at the special angle relationships that are created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal. First, let's define a few terms. Parallel lines are lines that never intersect each other. They go on forever and never touch. Transversals are lines that cut through or intersect the parallel lines at distinct points. In the picture below, the red line is the transversal and the blue lines are parallel. The numbered angles are created by the intersection of the transversal with the parallel lines. This section is very vocabulary intensive.
