You got an extra credit assignment today in class that is due Wednesday. It's a review of Quarter 2 and Quarter 3 concepts, but I know it can sometimes be hard to get started when you don't remember anything about what a question is asking. So here are some hints to get you started:
#1: An equation in slope-intercept form says y=mx+b. To convert it, you need to "solve" for y, which means that you want to get the y by itself. Do the inverse (or opposite) of what's around the y to get it alone.
#2: Remember that output is y and input is x. So if they tell you that the input is 5, plus in 5 for x and solve for y.
#3: Draw a right triangle between the two points and use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for the distance.
#4: Remember that in order for a relation to be a function, none of the x-values can repeat with different y's. Think about what that looks like in a graph...how do I know if any x-values repeat?
#5: To find slope or rate of change, find the CHANGE IN Y and the CHANGE IN X, and use that to write the fraction for slope. Remember to simplify if possible!
#6: The function RULE is the same thing as the equation for the function. Remember that in slope-intercept form, the equation says y=mx+b. So find the slope and y-intercept of the table and then write the equation from there.
#7: The side length that is across from the right angle is the hypotenuse (c), so be sure to plug in 10 for c, not a or b.
#8: The formula for the volume of a sphere is shown below. Use the radius you've been given with the formula below and remember that EXACT means you don't have to estimate and make it a decimal answer.

#9: Remember to "read" the line from left to right. Is it going up from left to right (positive); is it going down from left to right (negative); is it changing none from left to right (zero); or is it not possible to move left and right on the line (undefined)?
#10: To find the slope from a graph, draw a right triangle between the points and count the spaces to find the change in y and the change in x. Then write the fraction and simplify. Remember to check and see if the slope should be positive or negative (is the line going up or down?).
REMEMBER THAT YOUR EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT IS DUE NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY! Ask questions if you need help!
